Sunday, June 2, 2024 Honey Bee Jamboree at the Blackwood Farm Park Large Shelter from 1 to 5 pm.
Join us at Blackwood Farm Park, 4215 NC 86 South, Chapel Hill, fun for the whole family! We have live music, a potluck dinner, a bee themed scavenger hunt and cornhole. Tour the OCBA Apiary, enter the honey dessert competition or bring your honey for the black jar competition (no label or cover your label).

June 2024 Meeting – Preparing Your Honey for Competition!
Thursday, June 13th. Potluck appetizers start at 6:00 PM, meeting starts at 7:00. This meeting will be a little
different. We will divide into three groups and spend about 20 minutes in each station. What are judges looking for?
- Honey entries
- Wax entries
- Tips for harvesting, extraction, filling and preparing your entries.
This summer and fall, there will be many competitions to submit entries including the Tobacco Road Honey Classic at the end of September co-sponsored by the Durham County and Orange County Beekeepers Associations. This is our 2nd year! We look forward to seeing you on June 13th!
